Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha 2000 - Red Wine
Quinta do Cotto"Vinho de Quinta" made with selected grapes from vines over 25 years old situated on slopes in the Douro river valley, in which the traditional varieties of the "Tinta Roriz" and "Touriga Nacional" predominante. All of the wine making process, from grapes selection to vinification and bottling is directly controlled and supervised by the owner at the Quinta.
The Producer
It is in the oldest sector of production of Douro Wine (Royal Decree of 1757) that Montez Champalimaud, combining its secular heritage with a constant policy of innovation, prides itself on producing high quality wines. Breaking with the old paradigms, of bottling as a factor external to the winegrower, Quinta do Côtto was at the origin of a revolution that led the most enlightened winegrowers to bottle and sell their Quinta Wines directly on the market. The 1960s thus marked the birth of the first Quinta do Douro Wine - Quinta do Côtto - whose success led Montez Champalimaud to expand the portfolio, first with Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha, and then creating a new brand - the Paço de Teixeiró. Nowadays, being a Quinta Wine ensures that the wine was carefully produced and selected by the owner of the Quinta, guaranteeing the quality, personality and authenticity without which no good wine is a great wine.
