Quinta da Bacalhôa Cabernet Sauvignon 1991 - Red Wine
Bacalhôa Vinhos de PortugalThe Palácio da Bacalhôa National Monument was built in 1480 by the mother of King Manuel I on the site of Coutada Real in Vila Fresca de Azeitão. This property was later acquired by the family of Afonso de Albuquerque Viceroy of India. The Palace is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Portuguese buildings where Renaissance and Moorish styles are harmoniously combined, with the graceful archways, the gummed towers and a rare collection of polychrome tiles from the 15th and 16th centuries being worthy of mention.
In 1975, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines were planted, extending to the ancient walls of the palace. The first production was obtained in 1979, resulting in an exquisite red wine whose quality will be enriched by aging in the bottle after having already spent a convenient time in oak barrels specially purchased for this purpose and which can be visited in a winery in the nearby region. of the palace.
