Warre & Co. Cintra Colheita 1935 Bottled in 1989 - Port Wine
Warre & Co. Cintra Colheita 1935 is a Tawny Colheita Port from Portugal’s Douro region, originating from a historic vintage. Aged in wooden casks and bottled at a later date, it represents a testament to the long-standing tradition and heritage of Port wine
The producer
The name of William Warre appears for the first time associated with the Port wine trade, with the creation in 1729 of Messrs. Clark, Thorn & Warre, benefiting from a long tradition of family history linked to Port winemaking since 1670. The entry of young Warre, who had served as a military under the orders of the Duke of Wellington in the war against the Napoleonic invasions of Peninsula, had to play a decisive role for its relations in the recognition and growth of the brand that at the end of the eighteenth century Warre & Sons already represented 10% of the total exports of Port wine in 1791.
