Vintage Port is made from a single harvest and must be allowed to mature slowly in bottle. As it ages it sheds its deep dark colour and become paler and softer.
The Carvalheira Vineyard is situated above the river Torto, a tributory of the Douro river in Northern Portugal.
All Vintage Ports naturally produce a sediment and must be decanted. Stand the bottle upright for 24 hours before opening then carefully pour into a clean decante bottle.
Best enjoyed after a meal, either on its own or specially with cheese.
Lie down in order to keep the cork moist. Ideally keep in a cool area away from direct sunlight.
