The first impression on the palate is a round wine with a rich and velvety texture, but excellent acidity is present and cohesive and well-integrated tannins emerge at the end. Powerful and very long finish, with persistent flavors of red fruit.
Although the nose shows the seductive and opulent character of the red fruit, a familiar characteristic of the Roêda vintages, there are also intense aromas of wild fruits that add focus and refinement. As always, the fruit is wrapped in an envelope of exotic aromas of balsamic, mint and eucalyptus.
The producer
The Croft brand is one of the most distinguished of all Port wine producing houses. Founded in 1588, it is the oldest operating company in the area and is particularly well known for its Vintage Port wines, its range of Madeira aged Port Reserve wines and also its Tawnies, styles that last over time thanks to their skill and experience that has been passed down from generation to generation.
However, despite its rich heritage and history over four centuries, Croft has never been limited by its tradition. Today, as in the past, it maintains a pioneering spirit, continuing to create innovative styles such as Croft Pink - the first rosé port.
