Tasting Notes: An exceptional wine! Prepared by traditional methods, the grapes are harvested manually and transported in small boxes of 12 kg to the winery where they are trodden, occurring the fermentation in small vats under controlled temperature. The wine aged in new French oak barrels for 26 months and 12 months in bottle. The Marias da Malhadinha presents an intense colour and loaded with its deep aroma and complex ripe black fruit, with toasted almonds, spices and even notes of tobacco. The flavour is rich with a softness and greasiness, which together with its acidity, conveys a large elegance. The structure of tannin is robust and has no edge, and the fruit being present, surrounded by a strong mineral character typical of the region. The end is very long and persistent showing a great potential for aging.
