Visual aspect
Powerful “old gold” color, with reflections between gilded, and amber. Bright, clear and transparent.
Olfactory aspect
Yellow fruit compotes such as quinces, pears, apples, and other dried fruits such as chestnuts and walnuts. Light earthy notes, resins, fine woods and dry spices. Ethereal and complex.
Gustatory aspect
The dried fruit notes are striking, of good body and good persistence. Dry, with balanced acidity. Soft. Good finish, with a powerful aftertaste reminiscent of old white fortified wines and chestnut confections.
We are a family owned and operated business.
Harmonization
It is a complex and delicate tanning wine (orange wine). Its versatility makes it possible to harmonize well with fresh and wild mushrooms, as well as succulent dishes (feijoadas and cassoulets), cod and game birds. Goes well with vegetarian dishes. Some daring connaisseurs recommend this wine for a pie of peaches or a tart Tatin.
