Tasting Notes
Intense ripe fruit aroma, violet and resin florals, typical of a large Vintage, are the source of its balance and final persistence and elegance. It also has very lively and very mature tannins.
The producer
Referenced since 1751, Ferreira has always been a synonym for high quality Portuguese wine. The history of the brand is mixed with the history of the evolution of the Douro Demarcated Region (delimited in 1756) and its Port Wines and table wine (Douro DOC).
The patriarch of the Ferreira family - already owner of vineyards in areas later integrated in the Douro Demarcated Region - began his commercial activity in the mid-eighteenth century. However, the foundations of the company would result from the actions of their grandchildren, José Bernardo and António Bernardo, in the early nineteenth century, by considerably increasing the agricultural heritage they had inherited.
