The Producer

AA Wiese & Krohn was founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, based on the export of Port wine to the Scandinavian markets and to Germany. It is currently managed by the third generation of the Falcão Carneiro family - a very experienced taster from Casa Croft and Portuguese export director working at the firm since 1910. The company owns a property called Quinta do Retiro Novo, located in one of the noblest areas of the Douro - the River Torto valley. The wines from this area are famous for their superior quality, especially Vintages, Late Bottled Vintages and Colheitas.
