The Producer

Founded in 1954 by a group of 22 members, Adega Cooperativa do Cartaxo has its roots in a region with a strong wine tradition where there are historical references to this activity, prior to the 10th century.

The cellar functioned until 1974 in the premises of the former National Wine Board (now IVV), since then it works in the current facilities, always investing in the reinforcement of its human and technological resources in the service of a better wine production.

With a continuous investment in its human and technological resources at the service of wine production, Adega do Cartaxo has a social area in the order of 700 ha and annually produces around 7 million liters. Red wines represent about 70% of this production, being part of a wide and diversified range of bottled wines.
