- 17 points Revista de Vinhos;
- Silver Award International wine & spirit competition 2013 (2009);
- Bronze Medal Decanter World Wine Awards 2013 (2009).
Features an intense garnet color with floral aromas, light citrus fruits, black fruits, mint, spices and toast in a deep and complex aroma. The palate shows a great elegance, based on solid tannins and a long and persistent finish.
In the early nineteenth century, Thomas Reynolds migrated to the Alentejo region with the cork business in mind. Three generations later, his grandson John Reynolds acquired the Herdade do Mouchão for the production of wines. Several vines were planted, in 1901 a traditional wine cellar was built and in 1929, the distillery was installed, the same one still used today to produce the Mouchão brandy. Today the Herdade do Mouchão continues to be managed and worked by the descendants of the original family.
Tasting Notes: We are faced with a different wine from classic Mouchão. This has a more international character without the weight of Alicante Bouschet expressed in color and more rustic notes. This wine displays excellent patent in harmonious union between aromas of ripe fruit, alcohol and acidity in the right spot. Long finish, jam, chocolate, endless.
