Previously, and since 1886, José Maria da Fonseca, produced a typical wine under the brand name "PALMELA". At the end of the sixties this name was changed to "CAMARATE", the farm where the vines are produced.
The original varieties, Castelão Francesa, Espadeiro and Cabernet Sauvignon, are planted in clayey-limestone soils, with a Mediterranean climate and very humid nights.
"QUINTA DE CAMARATE" is a red wine with a complex aroma, light and fruity, round and smooth body, with a long aftertaste.
It should be served at 18º/20ºC, with white meat, game and cheese
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow color. Aroma to tropical fruits (Kiwi, banana, pineapple), very mineral. In the mouth it is bulky, balanced and elegant. Good end of test.
