Pinhanços, the enchanting porch from which the valley winds its way, the majestic face of the Estrela, whose roughly cut ridges resemble the border of the colossal towel of the Altar of the Serra - Altar Mor of Portugal, and whose gigantic shell, sometimes of immaculate white purity, nests on each side a village, in each head a hermitage, letting a writhing stream flow from each wrinkle, praying low and sliding to the sea.
