The producer
Adega Cooperativa de Redondo produces about fourteen million liters of wine per year, including reds (75%) and whites (25%), and has recently started to produce rosés. Pedro Hipólito explains that “red wines are based on typical Alentejo grape varieties such as Trincadeira, Aragonês, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet (the last one brought from abroad, but we already consider it from the region) but we have been recommending the planting of others, namely some that are national flag, such as Touriga Nacional, and Syrah. In the case of whites, in recent years we have seen a fluctuation in demand with a current upward trend.
