Beyra 2018 - Red Wine
Tasting Notes
Fruity aroma with discreet mineral very elegant, with berries and spices, fresh, with fruit and persistence to mark the finish. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional grapes from old vines planted in granite and schist soils with quartz veins in the Douro river basin at an average altitude of 700 meters.
The producer
Among the highest vineyards in Portugal ”was the motto for the launch of the Beyra project in 2011, with the pioneering concept of Altitude Wines. From the first hour it became the reference mark of the Beira Interior region.
The richness of 'terroir's' from the Douro River Basin, the transitional soils from the valley shale to the granite of the mountain, interspersed with many quartz veins, were the motivation for planting vineyards on the adjoining Beyra grounds.
