The Producer

The first historical references that are known about Quinta da Pellada appear around 1570. The Dão Demarcated Region was established in 1908, framed by three mountain massifs - Buçaco, Caramulo and Serra da Estrela - that preserve it from the Atlantic winds and they provide very special weather conditions and Álvaro Castro is one of the best Portuguese producers and an undisputed leader in his Dão region.
