Cockburn only "declares" a Vintage when the weather has been perfect all year round and winemakers and tasters identify exceptional qualities in the wines. Cockburn Vintage Port is made primarily from the finest wines of your own farm. The wine will age in wooden barrels for up to two years, after which it is bottled - unfiltered - and then matured in bottle for at least 20 to 25 years, not uncommon for the great Port Vintage wines. be in excellent condition after 50 years or even more.
