Tasting Notes
Deep dark purple color. Expressive and exuberant on the nose, with an intense bouquet of blackberries, raspberries and black plums, it becomes more complex in the mouth with notes of tobacco and chocolate. Strong and full-bodied, with round tannins. Excellent freshness and acidity.
The Producer
Casal do Paço, in Vasco Croft since the 17th century, has the soul of an old Quinta, and was the starting point of the Aphros project. It covers 20 hectares of land and forests, six of which are vineyards and four chestnut orchards. In the center stands out a granite manor house from the 19th century. XVI, with 2 floors and chapel. The first floor cellar goes back to the origin of the house. In October 2006, the first biodynamic process was implemented, marking the beginning of something that would transform both the farm and its wines.
Casal do Paço is now recognized as a model ecological winery committed to the preservation of its ecosystems that include not only vineyards, but also entire forests of acacias, oaks, eucalyptus and old trees, home to wild boars, foxes and eagles.
