The Producer

The history of the Palato do Côa is recent, dating back only to 2007, but it is supported by more than 25 years of experience of the winemaker, making wines in the most varied regions of the country. Quinta da Saudade, located in the Douro Superior, in Muxagata, municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, was acquired in 2008 by winemaker Carlos Magalhães (alias Carloto) and five friends who had a common passion - wine, vineyards at altitude and the Douro. Albano Magalhães; Bernardo Lobo Xavier; Carloto Magalhães; João Anacoreta; João Magalhães and Manuel Castro Lemos have a simple motto - create the best Douro wines - wines with a genuine palate, made exclusively with Quinta grapes and that can compete with what is best done in the region.
